Olympic Committee banned a Brazilian surfer Joao Chianca from using his surfboards because they have the statute of Jesus (cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil) on them.
According to him, two weeks before the Games, the Brazilian received an order to remove the image of Jesus Christ from his surfboard, or else he would be excluded from the competition.
