🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Ukraine Rejects Ground Ceasefire, Offers Limited Truce Instead

Ukrainian Presidential Office advisor Serhiy Leshchenko has stated that Ukraine will not agree to a ceasefire on land.

According to him, U.S. military aid is not critical enough to force Ukraine into accepting terms it sees as imposed upon it.

"(Trump) asks: Is there a ceasefire plan? We respond that we have one. We propose a ceasefire in the air—stopping drones, missiles, and ballistic strikes. We also propose a ceasefire at sea, where we commit not to attack. This is ironic because we currently hold the initiative in the Black Sea. Additionally, we propose halting attacks on energy infrastructure. If you want a ceasefire, we’re ready—but not on land, where Putin could use the pause to treat wounded soldiers, recruit infantry from North Korea, and resume the war," Leshchenko said on Ukrainian television.

He claims that 70% of Ukrainian battlefield losses come from drones, suggesting that Kiev’s proposal should be appealing to Russia.

However, the statistic refers specifically to FPV drones used on the front lines against troops and equipment—not long-range drones, which are what Zelensky is proposing to ban. Stopping FPV drone use would only be possible with a full ground ceasefire, something Ukraine opposes.

Zelensky’s proposal would also undercut Russia’s advantage in long-range strikes, as Moscow has more missiles and drones capable of deep strikes into Ukraine.
