Pentagon informs European diplomats the US will partially halt military assistance to Baltic nations and NATO states bordering Russia.
Pentagon informed European diplomats that the US was shifting to a "homeland defense" priority.

Pentagon officials sat down with a group of European diplomats in late August and delivered a stern message: The US planned to cut off some security assistance to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, all NATO members bordering Russia.
More broadly, Pentagon official David Baker told the group, according to an official with direct knowledge of the comments, Europe needed to be less dependent on the US under President Donald Trump
, the US military would be shifting its attention to other priorities, like defense of the homeland.
Yet another #NATO provocation. This time by Estonia.

Shortly after the US cut some security funds for European countries bordering Russia, including Baltic states, Estonia makes claim about Russia's violation of Estonian airspace without presenting any evidence. Drawing a strait line is NOT the evidence.
Worth remembering NATO and Baltic states threats to cut Russia's access to Baltic sea & to attack Kaliningrad.

From the horse's mouth:

Finland’s President Stubb stated that security guarantees for Ukraine will obligate European countries to fight Russia.

Stubb:

security guarantees for Ukraine, which are being discussed by the so-called “coalition of the willing”, would compel the European countries that sign to fight Russia if Moscow launched military action against Ukraine again in future.
Venezuela Captured a DEA Agent with 3.7 Metric Tons of Cocaine.

Venezuela 's Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace , Diosdado Cabello, announced a major anti-drug operation in which 3,680 kilograms of cocaine were seized early Monday morning.
According to the official, the vessel with the cargo departed from the Puerto López sector in La Guajira, Colombia.
Iran and Russia will sign an agreement this week to build new nuclear power plants. Under bilateral deal, Russia is expected to construct 8 new plants in Iran.

Russia will also produce nuclear fuel for Iranian nuclear power plants during the whole service life of the eight new power units. Spent nuclear fuel will be also returned to Russia for reprocessing and storage,
In particular, a contract signed to build the second line of nuclear power plant Bushehr, envisages the construction of two nuclear power units with possible expansion to four power units.
What could possibly go wrong?

The US and a leading War on Terror General welcome a long-time Al Qaeda leader (on whose head until recently 🇺🇲 had a bounty) because he serves the US.

There is real tension between the Trump administration and its Baltic allies.

In Washington, I have heard complaints about the “Estonianisation” of European foreign policy — a reference to the fact that Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, is Estonia’s former prime minister. In parts of the Trump administration, the Balts are regarded as dangerously aggressive in their attitude to Putin. At a recent high-level Pentagon meeting, Baltic officials were accused of being “ideological” in their opposition to Russia.
The largest European countries are much more consistent than the Trump administration in their insistence on the need to counter Russian aggression. But they are also very nervous about the idea of fighting Russia without the US alongside them — witness the agonising about whether a European “reassurance force” could ever be deployed to Ukraine without an American “backstop” behind it.
US-backed #Israel genocide in #Gaza

The US is considering sanctions against the International Criminal Court.

The US is considering imposing sanctions as soon as this week against the entire International Criminal Court, putting the court's day-to-day operations in jeopardy in retaliation for investigations of suspected Israeli war crimes.
Washington has already imposed targeted sanctions on several prosecutors and judges at the court, but naming the court itself in the sanctions list would be a major escalation.

This is grotesque!

Former CIA Director David Patraeus to self-appointed #Syria's HTS headchoper 'president' #Jolani aka Ahmad al-Sharaa:

We were on opposite sides in Iraq: I commanded the surge, you were detained.
Now you’re Syria’s President at the UNGA.

Jolani:

We moved from war to discourse.

From the horse's mouth

#Estonia's ex-president Toomas Hendrik Ilves:

We need a mass casualty event on NATO soil.

"To be cynical about it, I think we need a mass casualty event before the member states are forced to actually take this seriously.
"I mean, we've had some near misses with bombs placed on planes that all so far have fortunately been found before they went off. We do have cases of major arson that we know the Russians did.
"But I think that it will take a genuine tragedy before NATO will get itself in order on these issues, precisely because of this incredible reticence to undertake anything"

#India told the US that it may reduce oil purchases from Russia if purchases from other sanctioned suppliers - Iran and Venezuela - are allowed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😎
Otherwise, the simultaneous cessation of oil supplies from Russia, Iran, and Venezuela to India will lead to a sharp rise in global prices.

Bloomberg:

Oil refiners paid an average $68.90 a barrel for Russian crude in July, compared with $77.50 from Saudi Arabia and $74.20 from the US, according to data from the Commerce Ministry. India is the biggest buyer of Russian oil delivered by tanker, while China is the largest overall importer, including deliveries by pipeline.
