Friends, sad news came from Nordens Ark: a few days ago, the beautiful Loesje passed away 💔
She was seven years old.

Our condolences to the zoo staff and to all manulovers in the world! This year, many people got to know and love Loesje and her fluffy family.

Dear Loesje, thank you for the countless wonderful, positive emotions you gave us all and for your wonderful and fluffy Nordic daughters! We will miss you so, so much!

Перед вами фото манула 1906 года!🔥

Этот красавец Otocolobus manul nigripectus родом из Тибета.
А в апреле 1906 года он прибыл из Зоологического сада Калькутты (Индия) в Лондонский зоосад.

Руководитель Лондонского зоопарка и зоолог Реджиналд Иннес Поукок описывал своего пушистого подопечного так:

«не проявлял страха перед зрителями и не хотел их избегать. Он смело и агрессивно, но молча подходил к передней части клетки и, встав на задние лапы, хватался за прутья передними, готовый поцарапать доверчивую руку, неосторожно оказавшуюся в пределах досягаемости».

Ну что ж, канонический суровый манул! 😈👌🏻

К сожалению, уже в апреле 1907 года его не стало, он умер от бронхопневмонии.

It's a photo of a manul from 1906! 🔥

This handsome Otocolobus manul nigripectus hails from Tibet.
In April 1906, he arrived at the London Zoo from the Zoological Garden of Calcutta (India).

The director of the London Zoo and zoologist Reginald Innes Pocock described his fluffy ward as follows:

“He showed no fear of visitors and did not try to avoid them. He boldly and aggressively, but silently, approached the front of the cage, standing on his hind legs and gripping the bars with his front paws, ready to scratch any trusting hand that carelessly ventured within reach.

”
Well, that’s a true grumpy manul! 😈👌🏻

Unfortunately, he had passed away in April of 1907, succumbing to bronchopneumonia.
