The third alarm fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. early Sunday at 4365 Léo Ayotte St. in Quebec City, according to a tweet from the Quebec City Fire Department.
The fire was brought under control around 2:37 a.m., after the intervention of about 50 firefighters. The Red Cross took charge of four people who were evacuated.
The Fire Commissioner's Office was dispatched to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.

Deadline looms as talks between province and Ontario education workers enter final hours
Representatives from the province and the union bargaining for some 55,000 education workers in Ontario are meeting as parents wait to find out if a strike will go ahead on Monday.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Ford government are taking part in negotiations which have spanned the weekend as they try to find a last-minute deal that would avert a planned strike. A deadline of 5 p.m. Sunday has been set for both sides to find a deal or notify parents a strike is imminent.
Some school boards, including the Toronto District School Board, have said that would force them to close classrooms.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce says that a tentative agreement reached with CUPE over the weekend will provide the union’s lowest paid members with a “significant pay increase” that equals out to about 4.2 per cent annually.
Lecce made the comment to reporters at Queen’s Park as he discussed the eleventh-hour deal to avert a strike that would have shut down in-person learning in most boards as of this morning.
CUPE members still have to ratify the agreement, a process which is expected to take until Nov 27 to complete.

TD bank donated $500,000 to a hospital program in Ontario that specializes in transgender surgeries for children. Supposedly funds were donated to McMaster Children’s Hospital to help administer irreversible “gender change” procedures.
The donation ”will allow up to 30 extra kids under 18 to undergo ‘gender affirmation’ services per year. The program overall deals with 60 to 70 youths per year.”
The Pediatric Gender Diversity Program aims to provide medical and mental health services to trans and gender diverse youth as part of a comprehensive program that includes adolescent medicine, psychology, psychiatry, endocrinology, speech-language pathology, and social work.

The Canadian government has expanded its sanctions list, adding a number of Belarusian banks, companies and citizens to it, the press service of the Canadian Foreign Ministry said on Nov 22.
According to a report, the National Bank of Belarus, as well as the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Alfa-Bank (Belarus), MTBank and Paritet Bank got under the restriction. Belarusian Railway, Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant, KB Radar, AGAT - Control Systems, Precision Electromechanics Plant and a number of other companies, most of which are associated with the production of military equipment and dual-purpose products, are also included in the sanctions list of the republic.
Currently, the Canadian sanctions list includes 55 Belarusian companies and organizations.

In September, Canada welcomed nearly 30.7% more new permanent residents than in August - a total of 44495 compared to 34050. This contrasts with a 22.2% drop from July to August. September was the best month for immigration this year, with the highest number of new permanent residents arriving in a single month since last November.
The latest Focus Canada poll shows that Canadians support current levels of immigration across the board though this result is controversial enough. The survey was conducted in partnership with the Century Initiative and is based on telephone interviews with 2,000 Canadians between Sept. 6 and Sept. 30, 2022.
