🇮🇳🇺🇸 Sikh separatist claims Indian 'spy network' operates in US and Canada

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen at the center of an assassination plot, said earlier this month that the Modi government should not be allowed to conduct hostile activity in foreign countries and said India's consulates in the U.S. and Canada were running a "spy network", although he did not provide any proof.

The U.S. and Canada "need to put their foot down that regimes like Modi's...should not be allowed to come to America or Canada, challenge their sovereignty and get away with it. They need to put their foot down and close (the consulates) permanently," he said.

This is bold coming from a man whose whole purpose in life is to violate India's territorial integrity.

Montreal to shed city hall welcome sign that includes woman wearing hijab

A welcome sign in the lobby of Montreal’s newly renovated city hall depicting a woman wearing a head scarf will be removed in the name of secularism, Montreal’s mayor says, following criticism that the image is offensive.

The drawing of a woman wearing what looks like a hijab will be taken down because of the “discomfort” it causes but also because institutions must strive to be secular.

Liberals ‘seriously in danger to fall,’ Bloc says as deadline passes

The Bloc Québécois is warning that the Liberal government is “seriously in danger to fall” as it begins talks with other opposition parties eyeing a topple after its demands were not met by deadline.

The Bloc Québécois had given the Liberals a Tuesday deadline to greenlight two key bills to avoid an attempt to trigger an election “before Christmas.”

They had until Oct. 29, which is today, to deliver that, which they did not do.

Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet.

More Liberal MPs demand secret vote on Trudeau’s future, as cabinet ministers reject request

A growing chorus of Liberal MPs called for a secret vote on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s future after his cabinet ministers tried to shut down the demands and argued it was time their party end the in-fighting.

On Tuesday, six more Liberal MPs added their names to the list of people who are publicly demanding their caucus cast a vote on the Prime Minister’s future as leader. Four other MPs had already made the request in the wake of Mr. Trudeau saying last week that he would stay put despite the concerns raised by dozens of MPs who fear an electoral wipeout in the next election if Mr. Trudeau remains leader.

Poilievre says it would be 'not fair' for Liberals to replace Trudeau as leader

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre thinks it would be “not fair” for the Liberals to oust Prime Minister Justin Trudeau now, as in his view they are “morally obligated” to keep him.

Poilievre’s comments come ahead of another potentially significant Liberal caucus meeting Wednesday, during which members are expected to continue discussions around the party’s leadership and the next election.

Poilievre wants to sink the Liberal Party and is willing to sacrifice the interests of the people by forcing us to tolerate Trudeau's leadership for another year.

🤫 Top officials admit leaking details on India foreign interference with Washington Post that were not shared with Canadians

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s national-security and intelligence adviser has confirmed she leaked sensitive information about the Indian government’s alleged role in murder, extortion and coercion to The Washington Post that was not shared with the Canadian public.

The leak from Nathalie Drouin and David Morrison, deputy minister of foreign affairs, accused India’s powerful Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah of directing the violent operations from New Delhi.

Ms. Drouin told the Commons public safety committee on Tuesday that she did not require Mr. Trudeau’s authorization for the leak and insisted no classified intelligence was provided to the U.S. publication the day before Ottawa expelled six Indian diplomats on Thanksgiving Day.

🗳B.C. NDP wins razor-thin majority after marathon vote count; two recounts pending

The New Democrats and Premier David Eby were on track to win a bare majority government nine days after voters went to the polls in British Columbia, but the final verdict will still require two judicial recounts to become official.

The incumbent NDP ended the final vote count Monday with 47 seats, defeating John Rustad's B.C. Conservatives. That's exactly the number of seats needed to secure a majority in the 93-seat legislature. The Conservatives won 44 and the Greens took two.

Poilievre promises to release names of MPs who participated in foreign interference

Opposition Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre would release the names of members of Parliament “deemed to have knowingly participated in foreign interference” should his party form government, his office says.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used his testimony before a federal inquiry on foreign interference to say he has the names “of a number of parliamentarians, former parliamentarians and/or candidates” within the Conservative party who intelligence shows “are engaged, or at high risk” of foreign interference.

What kind of game is that?

A PQ government would slash number of foreign students who don't speak French

The Parti Québécois on Monday proposed slapping a ceiling on the number of spots available in Quebec’s universities for those who do not master French.

The goal, PQ Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon said as he released a long-awaited 94-page policy document on immigration, is to cut the number of international students allowed into Quebec by half.

Should the PQ form the next government in 2026, he said, that number would drop from the current 123,689 to 50,000 in the first year of the party’s mandate.

The injunction granted on Saturday to the woman’s common-law partner prevents Dr. Ellen Wiebe or any other medical professional from helping end the life of the 53-year-old Alberta woman for 30 days.

Why is Ellen Wiebe always first in line to claim yet another soul?
