NATO has for the first time publicly accused Russia of preparing the murder of Armin Papperger, the head of Europe's largest arms manufacturer, the German Rheinmetall, which supplies Ukraine.
Speaking to the European Parliament, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General James Appathurai said that there had been episodes of sabotage in the alliance's countries in the past couple of years, including "train derailments, arson, attacks on the property of politicians," as well as "assassination plots," including the head of Rheinmetall, Politico reports.
Appathurai said the “Russians are recruiting” people for their plots online, including using “criminal gangs, unsuspecting youth or migrants.” The NATO spokesman added that this was being done to “sow panic and undermine support for Ukraine.”

🇸🇦🛢🇺🇸 Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ members have not yet responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's call to lower oil prices, according to a report by Reuters.
Ministers from the OPEC+ held a meeting and confirmed that they have no plans to alter their current strategy, which involves gradually increasing oil production starting in April. The agenda for the group's upcoming meeting on February 3 is also expected to remain unchanged.
Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, and Libya also held discussions among themselves to coordinate their positions.
When asked about Trump's demand to boost oil production, Saudi Arabia's Economy Minister Faisal al-Ibrahim emphasized the importance of focusing on "long-term stability in the oil market." He made these comments during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Reuters highlighted that oil prices have risen this year. OPEC+ is currently in a phase of production cuts but plans to begin increasing output from April, anticipating a recovery in global demand.

❗️Terrifying footage as F-35 fighter plummets to the ground and explodes at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska
Pilot survived catapulted out of plane & can be seen parachuting down in video
$2 TRILLION FLOP: F-35 crashes in Alaska - millions up in flames & not for the first time
The F-35 fighter program, already set to bleed taxpayers for over $2 trillion, has cemented its place as one of the costliest military projects in US history.
A fifth-generation fighter, the F-35 is comparable to the Su-57 - however, Russia’s jet outclasses it in maneuverability and firepower—all without the $2 trillion price tag.
With years of crippling delays, software failures, maintenance nightmares, & reliability issues, watchdogs like the GAO have long warned about the F-35’s dubious effectiveness - yet the Pentagon keeps pouring in cash.
And for what? So it can fall like a leaf and explode in Alaska during peacetime anyway.
