OpenAI whistleblower death was suicide, not foul play, authorities claim
The San Francisco medical examiner’s office determined that former OpenAI researcher Suchir Balaji took his own life after his body was found last month in his apartment.
Balaji had alleged the company broke US copyright law while developing the ChatGPT online chatbot, and that such technology was “damaging the internet”.
