🇪🇺 President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen admitted that 'energy prices in the United States and China are much lower than in the EU.'
However, she pointed out that, to the current EU leadership, cutting supply of energy from Russia is the top priority, and sacrifices in order to achieve that are fine.
She also added that 'clean next gen energy technologies is what the EU should invest in, and that kind of power will ensure the Union's energy independence.'
She refused to provide any specific calculations that would substantiate her claims about 'clean next gen energy technologies' being abundant and cheap enough to ensure Europe's competitiveness.
