Oh, yeah, also, imagine if criminals were like "oh guess it's illegal I can't do that now" and just happily proceeded to talk publicly about everything they were doing. Do they seriously think this would happen? Even if this was a genuine concern, it arises out of a complete misunderstanding of how the internet works. You can't somehow ban e2e encryption. The said criminals will just use tools that do that illegally.
