So.. I tried to install fancontrol, and the first thing it did was set fans to full speed when it wasn't running; so now whenever I turn my PC on it sounds like a fucking airplane. It's also 4am and I need to do homework.

Bonus: it doesn't even work because it reads the temp in celsius and thinks it's in fahrenheit.

Also bonus: to switch back to automatic mode, you have to fuck around with the kernel. It is just one command (per fan), but still.
