FLOWERS OF ETNA (Saponaria sicule)
These beautiful flowers are found on Mount Etna at a high altitude and are called Saponaria sicule. They flower between June and August, despite high temperatures and lack of rain. This particular vegetation gathers in groups and takes the form of pillows, the pillows of the soap dish. The roots of this plant have detergent properties, in fact when they are immersed in water they make it foamy.
