● The botanical name Myosotis is a combination of the Greek words "mus" and "otis," which translates as mouse ear. The name refers to the shape of the leaves.

● In Greek mythology, Zeus believed he had given a name to all plants, whereupon a little blue flower cried out, "Forget not mine!" The supreme of the gods then made it simple and gave the small plant exactly this name.

There is also a legend about this plant, which comes from the Middle Ages. In it, a knight was picking a bouquet of flowers for his beloved, when he fell into the water and his heavy armor dragged him down. Before he drowned, he quickly threw the flowers to his maiden and cried, "Forget me not!"

● The forget-me-not has a strong symbolism. The flower stands for faithfulness and eternal love.
