Is it possible to get cancer from another person?
Cancer is not transmitted by household contact or airborne droplets, even if you are in the same room with a cancer patient around the clock.
Most likely, the myth of the contagiousness of cancer arose due to the incorrect interpretation of such a phenomenon as virus-associated tumors.
For example, a person can become infected with the oncopathogenic human papillomavirus, which, under a number of adverse circumstances, causes cervical cancer in women. But it is impossible to put an equal sign between the concepts of "getting infected with a virus" and "getting cancer": the virus is only a risk factor, from which, by the way, you can protect yourself with vaccination against the human papillomavirus.
