Every time Venus, Earth, and the Sun align, the conjunction of the Sun and Venus occurs. It takes 8 years for Venus to return to the exact point with the same original conditions as when the synodic period began. In the 8-year cycle, there are 10 conjunctions of the Sun with Venus, separated by periods of 9 to 10 months. Of these 10 conjunctions, 5 will be inferior and the remaining 5 are superior. The lower conjunctions are those that indicate the beginning of the synodic period. Every 4 years this dance generates a 5-pointed star, but it takes another 4 years to return to the starting point with the same original conditions, completing the cycle. When one star is complete, another and another form. The dance of Venus and the Sun that is generated in our sky is more than just a beautiful image to behold.
