Bambi - A "new" musical setting
The Times of Israel writes:
"The 1942 animated film "Bambi" has enchanted generations and cemented its status as a cinema classic. However, the story has darker origins, stemming from the anti-Semitism of 1920s Austria.
A new translation is said to reveal the original text as a parable that foreshadows the fate of Jews in the Holocaust, The Guardian reported Saturday . Departing from the somewhat cleaned-up version known to audiences, the new text aims to clarify the political and social undertones that underpinned the original version."🔹
