German Christmas Broadcast of 1942 (Christmas Special)

In the years 1940-1943 it often happened that the Wehrmacht sent a Christmas greeting on all fronts to the most distant battlefields in order to connect the soldiers with one another and to strengthen morale. The ring broadcast of 1942 was unique because of the sudden request of the soldiers on the Black Sea that all their comrades should sing the old German Christmas carol "Silent Night" together, which was indeed an interesting event. Here is a recording of that broadcast. Note: It is important to say that the broadcast from Stalingrad could possibly have been forged, as at that time they would have been surrounded by the Red Army and had no way of communicating with the outside world. The thing is, however, their transmitters were still working and they could still receive radio signals, so it is quite a sight to assume that it is possible that they were shocked to hear that broadcast and have a "representative" on their part hear.
