The frilled lizard, also known commonly as the frill-necked lizard, frilled dragon or frilled agama, is a species of lizard in the family Agamidae. The species is endemic to northern Australia and southern New Guinea. This species is the only member of the genus Chlamydosaurus. Wikipedia
Location: northern Australia nationalgeographic.com
Species: C. kingii
Genus: Chlamydosaurus; Gray, 1827
Class: Reptilia
Order: Squamata
Family: Agamidae
Phylum: Chordata
Behavior of the Frilled Lizard: They are diurnal, and most active during the day when fewer predators are roaming. Rather than actively searching for food, they rest on a tree branch or rock and wait for prey to approach them. Frilled lizards are also solitary, and defend a territory from other lizards.
