Fun fact: These guys are the baddest of the bad. No known predators. But bees evolved as a hive to to smother them beating their wings cooking them reaching 115 degrees.

The Asian giant hornet, including the color form referred to as the Japanese giant hornet, is the world's largest hornet. It is native to temperate and tropical East Asia, South Asia, Mainland Southeast Asia, and parts of the Russian Far East. Wikipedia

Species: V. mandarinia

Length: 2.2 in. (Adult, Queen)

Order: Hymenoptera

Documentary: Attack of the Murder Hornets seattletimes.com

Family: Vespidae

Genus: Vespa

Kingdom: Animalia

Venom: While Asian giant hornet venom is similar to other stinging insects, it's not the same. The Asian giant hornet's large size means: Its stinger is longer than that of a typical wasp. The protective clothing beekeepers usually wear is not sufficient to protect against stings.

How many people die from Asian giant hornets: Giant hornets kill 20 to 50 people per year.

A note: from the owner.

I like to take this time and not animal post for just this once. But to introduce you to our CEO @MazzyConfig. The CEO of CBN® incorporated. He the CEO of Fren Report, CBN and ApuWildKingdom. He pays us in chicken tendies and we still waiting to get paid. Been about two years now. And he sometimes doesn't wear pants. Either because he forgot to put them on or doesn't want to wear them.
