The aye-aye is a long-fingered lemur, a strepsirrhine primate native to Madagascar with rodent-like teeth that perpetually grow and a special thin middle finger. It is the world's largest nocturnal primate. Wikipedia

Location: island of Madagascar pbs.org

Conservation status: Endangered (Population decreasing) Encyclopedia of Life

Scientific name: Daubentonia madagascariensis

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Primates
Suborder: Strepsirrhini
Superfamily: Lemuroidea
Family: Daubentoniidae
Genus: Daubentonia
Species: D. madagascariensis

Why are people scared of aye-ayes: Few people who know of them are ambivalent about aye-ayes. In their native Madagascar, many people fear them as bringers of evil and misfortune, persecute them as crop raiders or revere them as emblems of fertility and good luck. Outside Madagascar, the animals' bizarre appearance equally enthrals or repels.

Fun fact: Burmese python just became an invasive species of Florida.

The Burmese python is one of the largest species of snakes. It is native to a large area of Southeast Asia and is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Until 2009, it was considered a subspecies of Python molurus, but is now recognized as a distinct species. Wikipedia

Scientific name: Python bivittatus

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Reptilia
Order: Squamata
Suborder: Serpentes
Family: Pythonidae
Genus: Python
Species: P. bivittatus

Are Burmese pythons good pets: Burmese pythons can, indeed, make great pets for the few people with the ability and facility to care for a snake that can attain a length of 15 to 20 feet. The stocky little 2-foot hatchlings are the perfect size to appeal to pet reptile keepers.

What is the largest snake in the world: The reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) is the longest snake in the world, regularly reaching over 6.25 metres in length.
