Turritopsis dohrnii, also known as the immortal jellyfish, is a species of small, biologically immortal jellyfish found worldwide in temperate to tropic waters. Wikipedia
Scientific name: Turritopsis dohrnii
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Cnidaria
Class: Hydrozoa
Order: Anthoathecata
Family: Oceaniidae
Genus: Turritopsis
Species: T. dohrnii
Life cycle: The immortal jellyfish life cycle will never end. It goes through process that can make him immortal. There are two distinct stages of a jellyfish's life cycle: the polypoid stage and the medusa stage. It is no different to the turritopsis dohrnii, except that it can revert to its polyp stage at any time.
Is Turritopsis dohrnii really immortal: Of course, Turritopsis dohrnii isn't truly 'immortal'. They can still be consumed by predators or killed by other means. However, their ability to switch back and forth between life stages in response to stress means that, in theory, they could live forever.
