Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public and both domestic and international media outlets of the following: The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia strongly rejects the false information disseminated by the Thai media and official sources, particularly the accusation that “Cambodia has decided to suspend cross-border travel to detain Thai citizens, restrict their freedom of movement, or violate international laws and conventions”. The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia unequivocally rejects the entirety of the false information disseminated by the Thai side.
The Ministry of National Defence would like to clarify that the Royal Government of Cambodia has formally decided to suspend all entry and exit movements at the designated hostile land and maritime border checkpoints contiguous with the Kingdom of Thailand. This requisite measure has been implemented exclusively to safeguard civilian lives and mitigate the risk of casualties directly attributable to the indiscriminate cross-border firing executed by the Thai military forces. It is imperative to note that unrestricted air travel, the border crossings with no hostile activities, and the border crossings with other sovereign states remain fully operational and are in no way impacted.
As a highly responsible and sovereign state, Cambodia consistently and unequivocally upholds all tenets of international humanitarian law. Furthermore, the Kingdom remains strictly committed to its fundamental obligation: to safeguard the security and maintain the safety of all civilian populations, encompassing both Cambodian nationals and all foreign residents, including the Thai citizens present within the territory of Cambodia.
Cambodia reaffirms its firm commitment to respect and strictly abide by the terms of the ceasefire and the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, acting with the utmost goodwill and responsibility. Cambodia is resolutely committed to the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law, as well as all existing treaties, conventions, and agreements, with the objective of finding a just, equitable, and lasting resolution. Consequently, Cambodia further expresses its earnest hope that the Thai side will equally respect and adhere to the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement, which was initiated by President Donald Trump and formally signed on October 26, 2025.

It has been 139 days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military.
Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to strictly, honestly, and in good faith uphold the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly paragraph 5, which clearly states that
“The Thai side must promptly release the 18 Cambodian soldiers” Cambodia also urges Thailand to respect and fulfill all obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law, by releasing the Cambodian soldiers as soon as possible so that they may be safely reunited with their families.
It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make relentless efforts, utilizing all available mechanisms for the Thai military to release and repatriate our 18 soldiers as promptly and safely as possible.

It has been 139 days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military.
Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to strictly, honestly, and in good faith uphold the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly paragraph 5, which clearly states that
“The Thai side must promptly release the 18 Cambodian soldiers” Cambodia also urges Thailand to respect and fulfill all obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law, by releasing the Cambodian soldiers as soon as possible so that they may be safely reunited with their families.
It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make relentless efforts, utilizing all available mechanisms for the Thai military to release and repatriate our 18 soldiers as promptly and safely as possible.
The Royal Government, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will never abandon any of our troops under any circumstances.

It has been 140 days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military.
Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to strictly, honestly, and in good faith uphold the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly paragraph 5, which clearly states that
“The Thai side must promptly release the 18 Cambodian soldiers” Cambodia also urges Thailand to respect and fulfill all obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law, by releasing the Cambodian soldiers as soon as possible so that they may be safely reunited with their families.
It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make relentless efforts, utilizing all available mechanisms for the Thai military to release and repatriate our 18 soldiers as promptly and safely as possible.
The Royal Government, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will never abandon any of our troops under any circumstances.

កម្ពុជាអំពាវនាវឱ្យភាគីថៃគោរពឱ្យបានម៉ឺងម៉ាត់ ស្មោះត្រង់ និងដោយសុច្ឆន្ទៈពិតប្រាកដ នូវសេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍រួមស្តីពីកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងសន្តិភាពរវាងកម្ពុជានិងថៃ ត្រង់កថាខណ្ឌទី៥ បានគូសបញ្ជាក់ថា “ភាគីថៃត្រូវដោះលែងយោធិនទាំង១៨នាក់របស់កម្ពុជាជាបន្ទាន់ដោយមិនបង្អែបង្អង់” ព្រមទាំងគោរពនិងអនុវត្តនូវរាល់កាតព្វកិច្ចទាំងឡាយនៅក្រោមច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ ជាពិសេសច្បាប់មនុស្សធម៌អន្តរជាតិ ដោយដោះលែងវីរកងទ័ពកម្ពុជាឱ្យបានឆាប់រហ័សជាទីបំផុត ដើម្បីពួកគាត់អាចវិលត្រឡប់មកជួបជុំក្រុមគ្រួសារវិញ ប្រកបដោយសុខសុវត្ថិភាព។
សូមគូសបញ្ជាក់ផងដែរថា រាជរដ្ឋាភិបាលកម្ពុជា បាននឹងកំពុងធ្វើការយ៉ាងសស្រាក់សស្រាំឥតឈប់ឈរ ដោយបានប្រើប្រាស់គ្រប់មធ្យោបាយនិងយន្តការដោះស្រាយទាំងអស់ ដើម្បីទាមទារឱ្យភាគីថៃដោះលែងវីរកងទ័ពរបស់យើងទាំង១៨នាក់នោះ ឱ្យបានឆាប់រហ័សជាទីបំផុត និងដោយសុខសុវត្ថិភាព។
រាជរដ្ឋាភិបាល ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ និងកងយោធពលខេមរភូមិន្ទ មិនដែលបោះបង់កងទ័ពរបស់យើងណាម្នាក់ចោលនោះឡើយ មិនថាក្នុងកាលៈទេសៈណាក៏ដោយ។
It has been 140 days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military.
Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to strictly, honestly, and in good faith uphold the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly paragraph 5, which clearly states that
“The Thai side must promptly release the 18 Cambodian soldiers” Cambodia also urges Thailand to respect and fulfill all obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law, by releasing the Cambodian soldiers as soon as possible so that they may be safely reunited with their families.
It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make relentless efforts, utilizing all available mechanisms for the Thai military to release and repatriate our 18 soldiers as promptly and safely as possible.
The Royal Government, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will never abandon any of our troops under any circumstances.
