Never find yourself being responsible for CI/CD of a large Java project. 17minutes and counting downloading dependencies. Hopefully caching works on the next run because this is crazy.

Do you believe you write objectively better code compared to the latest flagship AI models, like Claude Opus, codex, or Google’s Gemini?

🚀 Introducing Dataset.ET

The future of AI should speak Ethiopian languages.

Today we are launching Dataset.ET — an open community initiative to build the largest dataset for Ethiopian languages.

Why this matters:
Most AI systems today barely understand Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrinya, Somali, and many other Ethiopian languages. Without datasets, AI will ignore our languages.

Dataset.ET is changing that.

What we are building:
• Speech datasets
• Text datasets
• Community-validated language corpora
• Open infrastructure for Ethiopian AI

How you can help:
1️⃣ Record sentences using our Telegram bot
2️⃣ Validate recordings from other contributors
3️⃣ Help expand datasets for Ethiopian languages

No technical skills needed — just your voice and your language.

🤖 Start contributing:

🌍 Learn more:

💬 Join the community:

Together we can teach AI to understand Ethiopia.

📢 Community leaders & channel admins:
If you run a Telegram group or community and believe Ethiopian languages should be part of the future of AI, we would really appreciate it if you could share this post with your community.

Your support can help thousands of people contribute their language and voice to this initiative. Thank you!

It might be controversial, but it is true. If I’m honest with myself, there’s freedom in not wasting time debugging, going through badly written docs (or apis), dealing with unnecessary complexity. I became a CS major because I thought that was the shortest path towards solving big problems; it ended up being that I had to solve thousands of tiny local issues. Don’t you feel the same? I’ll say it: I don’t think I write better code / as fast as Opus or Codex. What takes me a week to accomplish, agents would do it in minutes. Yes, i do review the work, but the reviews are coming up with no issues, at this point I just review architectural/system design decisions Claude makes. I love it!

I have so many thoughts about this, I’m writing about it, but this was the gist of the debate I had that triggered the poll.

I don’t know why, but this feels weirdly honest and pretty mind blowing. Does it sound familiar? Have any renowned priests made this argument before? Just trying to understand how it could have come up with this:
