Ebbene, lo scorso 23 aprile la Commissione europea ha presentato una proposta per una direttiva che prevede l’applicazione di uno standard europeo per la protezione dei whistleblower. La nuova normativa creerà canali di comunicazione sicuri che permetteranno ai dipendenti di effettuare segnalazioni sia all’interno di un’organizzazione sia all’esterno, rivolgendosi in tal caso ad un’autorità pubblica. Gli informatori, inoltre, saranno tutelati dal rischio di licenziamento o demansionamento. Transparency International ha definito il provvedimento «un passo coraggioso».
