L'ex ministro Carlo Calenda tira una bordata (via Twitter) ai videogiochi come oggetto da eliminare dal nostro panorama culturale perché "fa male ai pupi". La rete si indigna, l'affermazione provoca un tuffo al cuore, e secondo me Wired fotografa meglio di molti altri i motivi.

Ma da elettori italiani (a prescindere dall’orientamento) si prova un piccolo tonfo nel cuore. Il tradimento femminile negli Usa sta diventando una valanga. È sempre esistito (non fosse altro perché i maschi traditori non possono trovare sempre concubine nubili) ma adesso, sulla base dei rilevamenti volontari, è in rapida crescita (mentre quello maschile è stabile). Vari fattori, dal reddito alla autonomia sociale e psicologica, fino alla differente organizzazione dei tempi della vita e del lavoro, oltre alle tecnologie digitali, che facilitano le comunicazioni, per così dire, rimuovendo o rendendo molto remoto il rischio dello stigma sociale, della lettera scarlatta per le donne che tradiscono.
Ma questa è ovviamente solo la punta dell'iceberg, perché sotto c'è un cambiamento profondo dell'idea che la donna ha di se stessa, e che è la cosa veramente interessante. Il tradimento è uno degli epifenomeni che aiutano a visualizzarla in maniera più contrastata, ma la realtà è che - seguendo questa intuizione - si può immaginare quanto siano in realtà cangianti e congiunturali cose che in realtà daremmo per scolpite nella pietra, come ad esempio alcuni tratti cultiurali delle personalità femminili rispetto a quelle maschili.

He was initially scared of being bored, but he found it was actually pretty easy to be entertained taking pictures, reading books, and travelling a bit. He came to the conclusion that digital technologies haven't changed the world, they've created a parallel world. He believes that the reason we are nervous and never have enough time is because we are now living two lives in these two separate worlds. He noticed that he felt his "personality dissolving" a bit, because in the analog world, he only had access to things that were popular (popular music, popular books, etc.) There is a long tail of hobbies and interests that the internet helps facilitate. He also lost a bit of motivation because seeing other people achieve great things always motivated him. He also gained an appreciation for social networks, people dismiss Facebook and Twitter as not being "real communications" but it really does help keep in touch with people across long distances. He thinks that month long breaks are too much, but if you want to try this, you can get a lot out of taking 2 weeks away from computers!

Per l'ex Ministro dello Sviluppo economico i videogiochi rendono addirittura incapaci di leggere e ragionare. Un'idea infondata, e reazionaria.
Una ricerca piuttosto interessante mostra che nei paesi più sviluppati per le politiche di genere cala il numero di applicanti donna per gli studi STEM.
