Met grote dankbaarheid presenteren we deze muziekvideo ‘Prayer of the Mothers’, tot stand gekomen in een bijzondere samenwerking met singer songwriter Loes Swinkels.
Met speciale toestemming van zangeres Yael Deckelbaum maakte Loes een Engelstalige bewerking van 'Prayer of the Mothers'. Een lied dat origineel door Palestijnse en Israëlische vrouwen samen gezongen werd.
Vrouwen voor Vrijheid maakte daar een videoclip bij, opgenomen tijdens een indrukwekkende ceremonie voor vrede.
Op deze kortste dag en donkerste tijd brengen we een krachtige boodschap van hoop en vrede. Als teken van solidariteit met mensen over de hele wereld die ondanks alles in vrede blijven geloven.

Je luistert naar een liedje uit 1987. Helaas is er in de tussentijd weinig veranderd op sommige vlakken. De oorlogen, gefinancierd met ons belastinggeld, gaan gewoon weer door na kerst, als ze al stoppen.
Anderzijds is er in die 33 jaar wel iets veranderd: ‘Turk en Griek en Marokkaan, mogen die hier blijven?’ kunnen we vervangen voor ‘Boer en tuinder en visser, mogen die hier blijven?’.
Stel je voor dat je boer bent en al jaren de dupe bent van wanbeleid en desinformatie. Klem zit tussen bank en overheid. Hoe zou het dan gaan met jouw lichtje? Hoeveel lichtjes zullen er al gedoofd zijn in die sector?
Zie dit als een oproep om komend jaar je lokale boer, tuinder of visboer te steunen. Met je portemonnee heb je invloed!

Thomas Edison cried for hours and then he wrote in his diary: "Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century."
