If you watched the video I put out today you'll know I've decided to wade into the academic debate around Nationalism. The school of thought around Nationalism that has been dominant in academia is Modernism, which says that Nationalism was created after the industrial revolution as a top down false consciousness by elites. Needless to say it rests on bad arguments and a bad, often willfull misreading of history.
These are the two men that popularised Modernism - Ernest Gellner and Eric Hobbsbawn. Both "British" academics, Gellner was of Austrian Jewish descent and Hobbsbawn (a Marxist) was the son of Austrian and Polish Jewish merchants in London.

I had Covid for the third time in 9 months last week, (probably one of the latest, more transmissible strains). Hence, my gym work was a struggle this week and I was very weak, even hitting 185 heart rate from a mild incline walk. However, it was nothing on the 8 weeks I suffered last summer with Delta and I'll be back to my usual fitness shortly.
I'm thankful I have my health but sometimes wonder if I made a poor decision not to take a vaccine and lend support to my parents (who are approaching 60). At the time, I felt that governments were rushing out a one size fits all solution, with its own profit incentive, to a problem that was largely deadly for pensioners.
Some "nationalists" (and I use quotes because they're people that openly identify as liberals and haven't posted more than a trickle of race related content for over a year), went so far down the rabbit hole that they seemingly advised elderly parents not to. They platformed grifter loons predicting mass vaccine die offs and other morons incapable of interpreting data. I was called a "fucking bum" and a "kid running his mouth off" for calling into question this discourse.
I'm stupified that the anecdotal evidence of women having mildly irregular menstrual cycles would be cited in place of an apology for getting everything wrong for a year. Giving advice that may've got people killed is now supported with a dishonest saviourism since other claims have been proven false.
Menstrual cycles can be affected by stress, not eating enough, eating too much or even living with another woman.
The only available studies have shown the vaccines had a mild and temporary effect on menstrual cycles in some women immediately after receiving the vaccine, that then subsided. The primary author of this one undertook the study after experiencing the side effect herself.

Now you can choose to disregard all of the government data, the CDC, this study and claim it's all lies but I don't believe the Romantic-Ludditeism promoted by some, is a compelling nationalist ideology and giving up the scientific battlefield is foolish when your biological preferences are so easily supported.

It is not always obvious to people in America or Europe how Middle East conflicts directly affect us.
For years leftists have appealed against funding for Israel or support for Syrian "rebels" or the war in Iraq based only on moral grounds.
Those are sound reasons, but these conflicts, which the Jewish state is always at the center of, affect us in more direct ways as well.
Last spring, during the war between Israel and Hamas I wrote this article detailing how Israel not only instigates conflict which leads to refugee flows into Europe, they also manage and fund the NGOs that directly place military aged men from states that are in conflict with Israel in the heart of Europe.
