Mateusz Piskorski was a Polish politician, elected to parliament in Andrej Lepper's Samobrooba party.

In 2015 he founded "Zmiana" (change) party, that advocated for abandoning American alliance for an alliance with Russia.

The next year he was detained and held without charges or trial for 3 years.

A member of his party commented it was “an attempt to intimidate those whose views on foreign, domestic and socioeconomic policy differ from those of the government”

Despite detaining a politician without charges for 3 years is against rule of law, the EU and US did not criticize Poland for it.
