Before and After Cutting
#Process

I never speak as fast or as perfectly as in my videos on youtube. A lot of the comments say that I speak too fast but that's rarely the case. I remove the ums and uhhs and slow talk by cutting it out.

Cleaning up the audio is the #1 step in my audio editing process after i complete recording from my noscript.
Next Step is to apply my recipe on all the cleaned up audio files.
#Process

Here is my recipe:
1. Equalizer: Apply equalizer as shown in the image.
(In audacity: Effect -> EQ and Filters -> Filter Curve EQ)

2. Normalize to -12 db (Effect -> Volume and Compression -> Normalize)

3. Compress (Effect -> Volume and Compression -> Compressor -> Preset & Settings -> Factory Presets -> Podcast/Radio )

4. Change Pitch from F to E by -2% (Effect -> Pitch and Tempo -> Change Pitch)

5. Reverb according to the above image (Effect -> Delay and Reverb -> Reverb)

6. Normalize again to -12 db

This makes a huge difference in audio quality.

Finally, i split the clips based on the powerpoint slides order and correspondence and export each split as a separate wav file.
