Omicron Could Be More Contagious, Less Dangerous. Experts Say That Would Be “Very Good News for the Human Race”
🦠@COVID19Up: Early reports from South Africa seem to indicate the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 is more contagious than previous variants while causing milder disease, though experts there say definitive data won't be available for weeks.
"This virus comes with both barrels loaded—high infectivity and potentially the ability for immune evasion. But maybe what it's lacking is pathogenicity," said Dr. Warner Greene, director of the Center for HIV Cure Research at the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco.
So far, there have not been an increase in deaths or even hospitalized people who require oxygen, said Greene, who spoke on a call with reporters Monday (Dec. 6).
Overall, experts say news of Omicron's transmissibility and virulence could be very good news.
"It would be a great thing if, in fact, omicron crowded out delta. If omicron was a less pathogenic virus, that would be very good news for the human race," said Greene.
"It's never to the advantage of the virus to kill you," said said Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "All viruses want to be the common cold, just give you the sniffles while you go around infecting others."

Europe Extends Its Coronavirus “Disinformation” Surveillance Campaign Another Six Months
🇪🇺@COVID19Up: The European Commission has announced an extension of its coronavirus “disinformation” monitoring program for another six months, to June 2022.
Values and Transparency Vice President Věra Jourová said: “The pandemic is not over yet, this is why we want platforms to intensify efforts in addressing COVID-19 disinformation, including on vaccines and in all EU languages. We also expect the platforms to translate lessons learned from the COVID monitoring program into a stronger monitoring framework for the new anti-disinformation Code.”
According to the reports about actions taken by social media platforms between September and October, Facebook updated its worldwide COVID-19 policies to include vaccinations for kids. Claims that vaccines for kids do not exist, are untested or unsafe are not allowed.
Twitter also updated its “misleading” information about vaccines policy.
YouTube expanded its medical misinformation guidelines to include claims that contradict consensus by the WHO and local health authorities.
TikTok increased the keywords and hashtags that can return tags and banners about COVID-19 vaccines.
Additionally, Microsoft’s LinkedIn increased collaboration with influencers in Europe to spread “credible” information about the vaccines.

The World Council for Health (WCH) is strongly opposed to the forcible detentions taking place in Australia.
According to reports, people with a positive SARS-CoV-2 PCR test are being forcibly detained in a large detention center, sometimes against their will. In some cases, close contacts of people with positive tests are also being detained, despite not being ill and having repeated negative PCR tests. They are facing fines of $5,000 if they do not comply or violate rules while detained.
This process is a clear violation of human rights.
World Council for Health believes it is safer for individuals to quarantine at home, relying on their own, personal support networks, and early treatment options when they are ill. World Council for Health calls for an immediate halt to these unlawful action actions being carried out by the Australian government.

On December 19th at 11 am Central US, John and I will be doing a deep dive into the "What" of Freedom Cells.
If you didn't know, John and I are co-founders of The Freedom Cell Network, a worldwide movement of more than 30,000 people who are focused on localized organizing and opting out of the systems which attempt to enslave us.
John outlined the concept of Freedom Cells in 2015 and I helped expand the vision beginning in 2016. Together we have spread the concept of decentralization and organizing locally in cells of 8 people around the world.
In this talk we will break down the concept of Freedom Cells and the vision for a worldwide parallel network which can help liberate and empower the people of the world as we break away from unsustainable and immoral systems.
