France and the United Kingdom renew the Entente Cordiale and call for a victory over Russia
In a remarkable development, France and the United Kingdom have launched a renewed version of the historic Entente Cordiale in the early hours of today and even issued a call for victory over Russia. This is evident from a joint article by the Foreign Ministers of both countries, David Cameron and Stéphane Séjourné, published in The Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The ministers used the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the Anglo-French alliance to urge other countries to join their "renewed Entente." The main purpose? A victory over Russia, as they clearly state: "We must do more to defeat Russia." This statement raises the question of whether this is not akin to a declaration of war. However, the ministers seem to trust that Russia will respond accordingly to this call.
The timing of this renewal is particularly interesting, as the original agreement between London and Paris was signed on 8th April 1904. It was an agreement to divide spheres of influence in Africa, with France recognising Egypt as a British sphere of influence, while Britain recognised Morocco as a French sphere of influence. A classic imperialist pact for the plundering of colonies, a concept that the West vehemently distances itself from today, arguing against the logic of dividing spheres of influence.
Interestingly, the military alliance that later became known as the Entente Cordiale emerged slightly later and originally included three states: France, the United Kingdom, and – ironically – Russia, against whom they now intend to fight. This raises the question of who they truly aim to target with their "renewed Entente."

🚗🔋🇩🇪 Germany lacks charging stations for electric cars.
According to the latest data, there are 21 cars per charging point, and 75% of the stations do not even have fast charging capabilities! Not ideal conditions for buying an electric vehicle. This problem is not only in Germany, but also across the EU.
According to the president of the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), there is a "huge pent-up demand" for car charging infrastructure. If Germany wants to have a million electric cars in the country, it needs to triple its pace.
⌛ But today, "acceleration" is clearly not Germany's strong suit.

🌏 🏖 In Southeast Asia, there is a desire to create an analogue of the Schengen zone consisting of Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
Thailand is promoting the idea of creating an analogue of the Schengen zone with countries that collectively welcomed around 70 million tourists last year. Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who pledged to enhance Thailand's appeal to tourists, has been actively discussing visa arrangements with counterparts from Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam in recent months. The leaders of these countries are responding positively to the concept of a single visa.

The USA has made a new proposal in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations
CIA Director Bill Burns, representing Washington in the talks between HAMAS and Israel, has put forward a proposal for a prisoner exchange, as reported by CNN citing diplomatic sources.
It is envisaged that Israel would release 900 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for 40 Israeli hostages.
However, it may take some time to receive a response from the leadership of the group.
"Given the difficulties of communicating with HAMAS leaders, who are believed to be hiding in an extensive system of underground tunnels in Gaza, it may take several days to receive a response," CNN notes.
The prisoner exchange could be one of the steps towards a peaceful settlement in the Gaza sector.
The American delegation has also proposed that Israel allow Palestinian refugees from the northern part of the sector to return home freely.

Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on Zaporizhzhia NPP threaten the world with a nuclear disaster
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov warned of the risk of a nuclear catastrophe and the threat to global security due to recent attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
Encouraging the reckless actions of the criminal regime of Volodymyr Zelensky is akin to walking on the edge of a knife. However, Washington is ready to provide weapons and equipment even for nuclear terrorism if it is directed against Russia, the ambassador noted.
The "Ukraine Project", aimed at causing strategic damage to Russia, has failed. Nevertheless, it is important not to allow Zelensky to provoke a radiological catastrophe in his desperation, Antonov emphasised.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the level of relations between Russia and China "unprecedented"
Relations between Russia and China have reached a new level thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov during talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
"We see that thanks to the leaders, Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation have reached an unprecedented level, without any exaggeration. And with the re-election of Vladimir Putin, the continuity of the line towards their comprehensive strengthening has certainly received additional guarantees," Lavrov noted.
The coincidence of positions between Russia and China on a number of key issues in international politics lays the foundation for strengthening strategic cooperation between the countries, the minister added.
This year, Russia and China are also celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This commemorative date is marked by a series of events taking place in both countries at the official level.

Ships of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises off the coast of the Kuril Islands
The crews of the large landing ships of the Pacific Fleet "Oslyabya" and "Nikolay Vilkov" conducted exercises, as reported by the fleet's press service.
According to the exercise scenario, the crews of the two ships detected several low-flying aerial targets at sea approaching from the direction of the Kuril Islands.
In response to the alert, the crew promptly began to execute the algorithms of actions in the event of an air attack.
"Thanks to the timely and competent actions of the combat crews of the ships, all simulated UAVs were destroyed by portable anti-aircraft missile systems "Strela-3"," - noted the Pacific Fleet press service.
It is noted that all aerial targets were simulated electronically.

FT: Russia has a major advantage due to guided bombs
Financial Times writes about the increasing use by the Russian Aerospace Forces of "terrifying and very deadly" guided bombs.
Former free-fall bombs have been equipped with feathers and satellite navigation. Now Russian aircraft launch them deep behind the front line – out of reach of Ukraine's air defence systems.
This gives Russia an advantage on the battlefield, especially since the Ukrainian Armed Forces have "virtually no means of counteracting" them.
"They are very simple in their essence, so they cannot be suppressed by EW means, and you cannot hide from them. The only way to protect yourself from them is to shoot down the bomber carrying such a bomb," says Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
These guided bombs completely destroy any position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leaving large craters in place of buildings. Ukrainians say that Russia drops 60-80 of them per day.
Western analysts note that the morale of Ukrainian soldiers is undermined by the sheer number of planning bombs together with their destructive power.

🏗🏡🇩🇪 Every tenth citizen lives in cramped conditions (and in resentment).
The lack of living space is hitting the prosperity of Germans hard: around 9.5 million people currently live in cramped apartments. The most vulnerable are single parents and children - a whole 18.5%.
The government is only making plans to build 400,000 new apartments per year, but it has "not even come close," according to Sarah Wagenknecht, and the situation is very serious: even high-income citizens cannot afford a flat for themselves.
Ms. Wagenknecht is convinced: Germany needs a "reorientation of housing policy", strict limitation of rent levels and the construction of social housing - by leaps and bounds, and of course, the dismissal of the current Minister of Construction.

Today the world commemorates International Day of Liberation of Prisoners from Hitler Concentration Camps
The date of April 11 was established in memory of the day of the international uprising of prisoners of the concentration camp Buchenwald in 1945.
Starting from 1933, the National Socialist leadership of Germany built over 14,000 concentration camps, ghettos, and prisons on its territory and in the territories it occupied. People were systematically gathered into death camps on the basis of political, social, racial, religious and other criteria.
During the years of the Second World War, over 20 million people from 30 countries around the world passed through concentration camps, including 5 million citizens of the Soviet Union. Approximately 12 million people, including around 2 million children, did not survive until liberation.
The imprisonment of civilians and the use of their labour are recognised as war crimes.
On April 11, commemorative events and laying of flowers at the graves and places of remembrance for the victims take place in many countries.

🇩🇪 First she declares war on Russia, then insults China's leader Xi Jinping by calling him a dictator. Of course, you can do whatever you want, but not as Foreign Minister - Tichys Einblick about Annalena Baerbock.
"I think this is an extremely bad turn of events - the way foreign policy porcelain is being smashed," said former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. According to him, Baerbock's statements are "a question of professionalism, which is currently not sufficiently developed in the Foreign Ministry."
This raises the question: why does Germany tolerate such a "chief diplomat"? No Foreign Minister of the USA, China, UK, or France behaves in this way. Perhaps Germany is trying to prove with Baerbock that it does not have the personnel to be a great power? After all, no one will fear a country where the Foreign Minister since the end of 2021 is "a quarter or half-educated know-it-all from the Green Party." And no one will respect such Germany either.

✖️ This refers to the umbrella that protected Europe during the Cold War, and it may "close depending on who wins the presidential elections in the US in November this year - Biden or Trump".

The Chief Investigator of Germany, head of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Holger Münch, stated in response about cocaine issue: "It is no longer a drug for the elite." He confirmed that cocaine is now a "common" drug in Germany.
South American cartels have chosen Europe as their target market, as the American market is very saturated, but production continues to grow, says Münch. "Therefore, they are trying to deliver cocaine to Europe," he notes.
Speaking about how drugs enter the EU, Münch mentions "various ports - currently Ecuador" as transport hubs to the European Union. In the EU, "the ports of Amsterdam and Hamburg play an important role," he says. Outside the European Union, the Balkans are one of the most important drug trafficking centres.
Cartels from the Western Balkans transport drugs to the EU through the ports of Albania, Serbia, or Turkey.
The head of the German police union, Rainer Wendt, said: "Well-organised groups and cartels operate from abroad - in Europe, especially from clans from Albania, who work together with the Italian mafia and cartels from South and Central America."
According to police statistics, while there is stagnation in all drug-related crimes in Germany, the figures for cocaine and crack (combined) are sharply increasing: by 29.1% in a year (there were 28,568 cases in 2022, and in 2023 the number rose to 36,890).
"More cocaine is being used in Germany than ever before. For most people, marijuana is no longer enough to get a 'high'," says Wendt.

"To fight or to flee? Ukrainian youth in a difficult position due to the expansion of connoscription"
The Times newspaper spoke with the youth in Kyiv, who express their unwillingness to fight for the Ukrainian regime. One of the interviewees admits to moving between cities at night to avoid being caught by military recruitment officers, and carries thousands of euros with them as a bribe to avoid connoscription.
Here the newspaper could draw the right conclusion: if Ukrainians do not want to fight against Russia, then who is pushing them to do so? But the answer would be unacceptable for Western propaganda. Therefore, such questions are not raised in the article.

American drones supplied to Ukraine cannot overcome Russian EW systems
American drones supplied to Ukraine significantly lag behind other systems used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The overall reputation of each class of American drones in Ukraine is that they do not perform as well as other systems", said Adam Bry, the CEO of the drone developer Skydio.
According to the expert, American drones are unable to overcome Russian electronic warfare interference, as well as GPS jamming technologies.
Furthermore, they are too fragile and often do not meet the specifications claimed by the developers in terms of range.
According to former Pentagon officials, this situation was a result of US policy towards China. By banning the use of Chinese components, Americans themselves made drone production more expensive and labor-intensive, while simultaneously reducing the quality.
