OPEC+ countries will cut oil production despite requests and panic in the US.

The OPEC+ monitoring committee agreed to reduce oil production during a meeting on October 5.

As reported by Reuters citing sources, the production will be reduced by 2 million barrels per day (this is the maximum possible reduction).

In the run-up to the OPEC+ meeting, the US presidential administration was actively trying to oppose the decision to reduce production.

According to CNN, plans to reduce production by more than 1 million bpd caused panic in the White House.

OPEC+ opposes the cap for Russia for fear of setting a precedent for other exporting countries. And the higher the difference between market and 'ceiling' prices, the less likely it is that the cap will actually be met."
