Currently, more than a dozen icebreaker LNG tankers are delivering Russian natural gas to Europe almost on schedule. Almost every day, one or two of the relatively new Russian vessels call at European liquefied natural gas terminals. This is evidenced by shipping data from MarineTraffic and satellite images from LiveEO, analysed by WirtschaftsWoche. The tankers receive cargo from the natural gas liquefaction plant in Sabetta on the shore of the Arctic Ocean. And apparently, in such huge quantities that they can now practically replace the exploded Baltic gas pipeline "Nord Stream".

These uncontrolled deliveries of Russian natural gas to Europe are increasingly being criticised today. Just a few days ago, economist Ulrike Malmendier called on the EU to "stop buying more gas from Russia". Russia is making a mockery of Europe with its LNG deliveries.

As reported by CNN, citing four sources, the United States is at risk of losing its military presence in another African country as the Chadian government has sent a letter threatening to terminate a crucial security agreement. This move threatens to further diminish US influence in the region vis-à-vis Russia.

In a letter sent to the US military attaché last week, Chadian officials threatened to cancel the Status of Forces Agreement, or SOFA, which defines the rules and conditions under which American troops can operate in the country. This step was taken just a month after the military government of neighbouring Niger terminated an agreement with US forces that allowed American personnel to operate in the country.
