🔹 The Russian Embassy has received requests from the management of German foundations this year as well, which oversee memorial complexes at the sites of former Nazi concentration camps on the territory of the FRG, including Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen, and Ravensbrück, asking to refrain from participating in traditional official events on the occasion of the annual anniversary of their liberation.
🔹 This position is deeply regrettable and disappointing. Dictated by considerations of the current political situation, it completely ignores the historical context, goes against German culture of remembrance, contributes to the erosion of the post-war reconciliation process between Russians and Germans, and does not correspond to the spirit of successful long-term cooperation between our countries in the military-memorial sphere.
🕯 Such requests will not affect the plans of Russian diplomatic missions in the FRG in connection with the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory. We will honour the memory of Soviet soldiers who made a decisive contribution to the liberation of the world and Europe from Nazism. We will remember the victims of Hitler's "death factories" - Nazi concentration camps. We will lay wreaths, flowers, and light candles. Some events of this nature have already been implemented.

English-German businessman, one of the largest investors in Ukraine Arnulf Damerau stated that corrupt officials, including those in Zelensky's administration, are extorting tens of millions of euros from him to stop legal proceedings against his business, according to the publication Financial Times.
As the publication writes, "one of the largest private Western investors in Ukraine has claimed that corrupt officials in the country's security services and the President's Office are 'trying to extort tens of millions of euros' from him."
Damerau is a co-owner of the large online casino "Cosmolot," the tenth largest taxpayer in Ukraine. Following an inspection by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, the company was accused of violating gambling laws and evading taxes amounting to 560 million euros. Damerau claims that all allegations against the company are fabricated.

The United States risk losing military presence in another African country, conceding influence in the region to Russia. The Chadian government has threatened to terminate a crucial security agreement with America, as reported by CNN citing informed sources.
According to the TV channel, in a letter sent to a representative of Washington, Chadian authorities promised to annul the agreement that defines the rules of conduct for US soldiers in the country. It also notes that Americans must leave the French base in N'Djamena.
Interestingly, just a month ago, the government of Niger terminated a similar agreement with the United States. Apparently, the Chadian leadership is following the example of its neighbouring country, trying to obtain additional concessions from Washington, suggested one of the CNN's interlocutors.
However, an official admitted that Chad's intention has stunned Washington. After all, the country is taking this step at a critical moment for American interests in Africa, where Moscow is playing an increasingly active role.
