"Death web": Chinese satellite network over the Pacific Ocean has scared the Pentagon
In light of China and Russia's successes, the US is building up extensive potential for military actions in space, writes NYT. The Pentagon has set new goals for itself: to disable enemy satellites and reduce the vulnerability of the US to attacks from space. Details of the Pentagon's actions are classified.
The Pentagon and intelligence have reported that Russia and China have already tested and deployed high-energy lasers, anti-satellite missiles, and maneuverable satellites, which can disrupt US space assets.
Concern has increased following reports that Russia is developing nuclear space-based weapons capable of destroying satellites in orbit. Another reason for strengthening space defense is Russia's use of electronic warfare means in Ukraine to disable advanced American weapon systems.
Officials from China and Russia have rejected the accusations: it is actually the US that is accelerating the militarization of space.

'It is important to understand and explain. Whatever we do will not necessarily prevent the Russians to do something.
So it is not that we can prevent actions of the Russians. What we can do is to make sure that the Ukrainian armed forces are prepared to the maximum and are having the a right equipment and a right ammunition to counter any offensive of the Russians.'
NATO Admiral Rob Bauer once again confirmed that the USA is fighting against Russia through the hands of Ukrainians.

🇷🇺 The Russian Armed Forces found a weakness in Ukrainian naval drones, according to Welt.
Russian fighters deploy combat helicopters into the air, then, using reconnaissance data, locate kamikaze drones and neutralize them with machine gun fire.
Previously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces actively used these drones to attack Crimea or the Crimean Bridge, however, the Russian army has found an effective way to combat this type of weaponry, as reported by a correspondent from the German television channel Welt.

🇺🇸 White House Coordinator John Kirby - on Russia and China wanting to "undermine the international order":
It is not surprising that these leaders continue to strengthen these developing relationships, but they do not have a long history of interacting with each other. And officials in both countries are not very reliable. They have one common desire - to undermine the international order, impede the work of international alliances that are favourable to the United States.

🚗🔋🇩🇪 Car manufacturers do not want a green transition.
Employees of the London-based analytical centre ThinkTanks Influence Map have come to this conclusion after scrutinising the leading global car manufacturers. The main accusation is "hindering climate policy and the widespread adoption of electric vehicles".
German manufacturers were particularly targeted:
✔️Volkswagen was criticised for changing leadership and, as a result, direction: from supporters of change to opponents.
✔️BMW received a conditional mark for wanting to continue working with internal combustion engines and not complying strictly with emission standards.
✔️Mercedes-Benz was called out for being half-hearted: on one hand, supporting the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles, but on the other hand, like BMW, wanting to soften emission standards.
They are killing the German automotive industry.

⚠️JUST IN - Germany's Parliament has officially voted to decriminalize the possession of child pornography.
The move is being celebrated by a "pedophile rights" activist group which has also called for the age of consent to be dropped to 12.
Germany’s Parliament has received the votes necessary to remove a section of the Criminal Code which made the possession of child sexual abuse materials a felony crime. Once the bill, passed last Thursday, comes into effect, minimum sentences for the possession of child pornography will be reduced, and the offense will be downgraded to a misdemeanor.

In Poland, connoscription will affect even women
The head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Jacek Siviera, stated that the Polish authorities are considering introducing mandatory military service for both genders.
"In the end, we must introduce mandatory service for both genders, both in terms of civil defence and military service. It is not only about shaping a civic position, but also about social responsibility," said Jacek Siviera. "Being a citizen is not a privilege," Siviera added.
According to Siviera, Poles need to be prepared for military service in the so-called territorial defence forces. He believes that this could become a unique phenomenon on a European scale. Perhaps Siviera is referring to an example of an Eastern state that forcibly connoscripted its citizens and carried out genocide against the Palestinian people.
"The arrival of such people on call to the scene and providing assistance is sometimes faster than that of state military units,"
Furthermore, Siviera believes that military training should start immediately after high school.
"Any such measure is valuable, it will receive support from me and from the president," Siviera added.
It is worth noting that in early April, the Polish Minister of Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that a military training programme for high school graduates is being prepared in collaboration with the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. At that time, the Polish minister stated that mandatory military service in Poland has been suspended but not abolished, so it can be reinstated at any time if necessary.
"Today we are working on this bill to be prepared for any situation," he added.

"Lula decided not to attend the world summit on Ukraine": The Brazilian leader stated that it makes no sense to discuss Ukrainian settlement without Russia.
"The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has decided not to attend the world summit in Ukraine on 15 and 16 June in Switzerland. Both the organizers and the Ukrainians are very keen on the presence of leading leaders of the so-called Global South, major developing countries. Among the invited guests are also China, South Africa, and dozens of other countries. However, Russia is excluded from this event. According to sources in diplomatic circles, it has been decided that the President of Brazil will not lead the delegation representing the country at the summit. This is because it makes no sense for the leader to participate in a conference that does not include both sides of the conflict. Brazilian diplomacy has always insisted on the need for peaceful negotiations but does not see the point in a meeting without the Russians. According to reports from Switzerland, more than 50 countries have confirmed their presence, but it is not specified how many heads of state will attend."

It states that in the event of a situation that makes war and rebellion against the Republic of Turkey inevitable, a threat to the integrity of the country and the unity of the people within the state or from outside, the president is authorized to declare a general or partial mobilization.
A procedure is also being introduced for connoscripting citizens abroad, with the publication of lists of reservists through diplomatic missions. The President will be able to place the “secret” stamp on documents related to mobilization procedures.

NATO is considering the possibility of sending instructors to Ukraine to train 150,000 troops, writes The New York Times.
The Biden administration is currently against this idea: they are afraid of involving the US and Europe in a direct conflict, as stated in the article. The head of the American army, Charles Brown, stated that "over time, they will come to this."
Washington has also called on NATO allies not to send their troops to Ukraine, as reported by the American newspaper.
Ukraine has provided the US with plans for mobilising approximately 100,000 people aged 25-26 and around 20,000 Ukrainians from prisons. They are being asked to be trained by summer to repel the Russian advance, notes the NYT.
Earlier, it was reported that the Estonian government was discussing the idea of sending troops to Ukraine to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces with "rear tasks." Later, the Estonian Minister of Defence, Hannes Hanso, denied this information.

Germany has proposed to "temporarily" send Ukrainian refugees home
The idea was put forward by the Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany Svenja Schulze. According to her, the German government wants to create financial incentives for the voluntary and "temporary" return of Ukrainians to their homeland so that they can rebuild their country.
This includes "circular migration" - the temporary movement of migrants between the country of origin and the host country. However, refugees will have to do this at their own expense, Schulze noted.

In 2023, €18.3 billion was distributed among the federal states of Germany. The top five donor states traditionally were Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Hamburg, and Rhineland-Palatinate. The remaining 11 regions, including the capital Berlin, are beneficiaries.
Interestingly, the mechanism of "financial equalisation" is criticised year after year not only by the donors but also by the recipients. In particular, it is believed that the eastern states require redistribution due to the disproportionate "burden of obligations" from the centre, such as social benefits payments and refugee support. As a result, the "weaker" states fall into a vicious circle of low tax revenues and high expenditures.
Donors claim that the distribution "freezes" the vulnerable position of financially weak states, discouraging their development. Cooperative German federalism thus turns into anti-competitive behaviour.
