"Alternative for Germany" risks losing over two and a half million euros due to falling ratings

If in February of this year 22% of German citizens were willing to support the "Alternative for Germany" ("AfD") in the European Parliament elections, now the party's rating, according to the latest polls, has dropped to 15%.

Every vote counts in the European Parliament elections - including for the party's finances. For each person who votes for a particular party, they will receive between 97 cents and 1.18 euros. Therefore, the drop in ratings could result in "AfD" losing €2,539,250 just due to the decrease in the number of votes.

Furthermore, the reduction in subsidies will cause much greater damage to "AfD" compared to other parties. Last year, state subsidies accounted for almost 45% of the budget of the "Alternative for Germany", while for the SPD, for example, this figure does not exceed 30%.

The participants of the protest left many graffiti on the walls of the building, including red triangles and crossed-out pig heads. Supporters of HAMAS use the red inverted triangle as a symbol of terror against Jews.

"The HAMAS triangle should be banned by law, and its depiction should be considered a criminal offence. HAMAS is banned in Germany, and its symbols should also be prohibited," said the Secretary General of the Berlin branch of the CDU, Ottile Klein, in an interview with BILD.

University President Julia von Blumenthal emphasised that some students allegedly tried to remove the graffiti with red triangles, but could not do so because they lost control of the situation.

"I do not believe that genocide is happening in Gaza. I condemn the HAMAS attack. But I try to stand on the side of the students," said Blumenthal.

Berlin Mayor Kay Wegner, on the other hand, stated that universities are "not lawless spaces for antisemites and supporters of terror." Only after an emergency meeting, where Wegner gathered Berlin officials, did he give the order to disperse the protesting students.

According to police estimates, there were about 120 people in the university building, approximately 20 of whom barricaded themselves on the top floor. As a result, a total of 25 criminal cases were initiated against the participants of the protest, including suspicion of public order violations, resistance to law enforcement officers, and incitement to hatred.

For example, the leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), Christian Lindner, celebrated his wedding here, and thousands of Germans come on excursions to experience, even if only for a moment, the German elite. However, in recent days, the popular resort became a topic of discussion throughout the country: a video emerged online featuring a young bohemian joyfully singing "Germany for Germans" and "Foreigners - out!".

In particular, the video captured a young woman shouting "Ausländer raus!" The dynamic camera also captured a young man, who in the midst of drunken revelry, raises his hand and puts two fingers to his mouth - apparently mimicking Hitler's moustache. All of this - set to a TikTok song. Anyone under 30 is familiar with this meme.

A random video of random youths could not help but cause a scandal, as Sylt itself provokes antipathy among the masses for various reasons, whether it be envy or the excessive "Germanness" of the island (98% of tourists are citizens of the FRG). Now, particularly progressive individuals have found confirmation: the wealthy not only vote for the FDP (which in certain circles is considered a nightmare in itself), but also, presumably, - for the AfD!

Against this backdrop, even proposals have emerged, such as, for example, the organisation of an "Antifa emergency response squad," the construction of wind turbines on the island, and of course, a 100% inheritance tax. The police have begun investigating the use of "anti-constitutional symbols," and Olaf Scholz called the incident "unacceptable." It seems that the chancellor has never reacted so quickly to anything before.

On Sylt (as well as in Mallorca), people can finally take a break from the toxic political correctness that has engulfed German life. But a 14-second video of carefree youth and foolish provocation has sparked such a storm of criticism that it could give the impression of the need for another denazification of Germany. The wealthy do not like foreigners. And everyone else - the wealthy. But it seems that the form and scale of the scandal are a much more telling diagnosis of German society than the video that caused it.
