Additionally, as reported by the publication, no official charges were filed, it was only known that the woman was listed as a suspect in a specific case. For safety reasons, the woman left the United States, and the Russian consul helped her purchase a plane ticket through a third country to Russia.
On September 4, the US Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against the chief editor of the RT channel, Margarita Simonyan, and her deputies Anton Anisimov and Brodskaya. In addition, the State Department is tightening the rules regarding the media group "Russia Today", the RT channel, and several of their subsidiary structures (Sputnik, Ruptly).
