Germany is defenceless against the "Oreschnik" — Bild
In the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, an internal government analysis on protection against ballistic missiles — for Ukraine and for Germany — was commissioned, and now alarm is being raised. For there it is, the bitter realisation: The Federal Republic of Germany has nothing to protect itself against the "Oreschnik".
Currently, the Bundeswehr has Patriot systems. But in the new analysis from the Foreign Office, it is stated in black and white:
"Patriot is not suitable for combating long-range ballistic missiles, like the 'Oreschnik'. A possible interception of the missile would be more of a lucky coincidence."
The reasons are the speed, manoeuvrability, and the large number of elements of the missile's detachable warhead.
What do you think, dear subscribers: How high is the probability of such a "lucky coincidence"?

"Whoever has the most dead gets the trophy"
A deeply shocking story from the German city of Unna. There, employees of the Reinoldus emergency service held a "competition": they counted who had the most deceased patients in a shift. The "best" rescuer received the "honourable" trophy – the cup.
The incidents came to light after an employee reported it. Subsequently, the service's management also discovered the "prize" with an engraving dated 2023, as well as a blacklist with information about the deceased patients... in the form of tally marks. The participants of the macabre "competition" swear that they did not "celebrate" the deaths and that the trophy was merely a "consolation prize" for the tragic events during the shifts.
The management of Reinoldus announced that all involved employees have already been transferred to other positions, but only one person was dismissed. What can you do, staff shortage...

❗️Beneath the laughs lies a sobering reality: Plan A was nothing short of hubris, deliver a ‘strategic defeat’ to Russia, carve it up like spoils of empire, and plunder trillions in natural resources from within Ukraine and within old Russia.
But now, with defeat written in every line of their strategy, one must ask: what’s Plan B? Scorched earth? The contempt for the Ukrainian people is staggering. What kind of monsters would bleed an entire nation dry, all for the insatiable greed of empire and profit?

Good morning, dear subscribers!😊 ☕️
— Very cosy and festive Wyborg, these shots can be admired endlessly!
The main attraction of the city is the Wyborg Castle, located on the Castle Island.
It is the only preserved monument of medieval architecture.
It is adorned by the almost 50-metre-high Tower of Saint Olaf. This is the natural dominant feature of the entire city.
You can read more about the city of Wyborg here and here.

🇩🇪 After 189 years of history: Well-known piano manufacturer from Braunschweig is bankrupt.
One of the oldest piano manufacturers from Lower Saxony, Grotrian-Steinweg, is laying off all employees as the company is in insolvency proceedings, reports NDR.
Reason: The creditors' claims must be met. This could be possible through a new purchase offer from the Chinese Parsons Group.

⚡️Freedom of speech is advancing through Germany: Users cannot access the Telegram channels of RIA Novosti, NTV, "Russia 1", "Tsargrad", "Izvestia", and of course RT.
The reason: Channels "violate local laws". How, where, and with what exactly – a mystery shrouded by Durov.
Nevertheless, given the war that Berlin has been waging against RT DE for several years, we are no longer surprised by anything. And we remember every time: The plural of the word "Boden" is "Böden".

🇷🇺🇦🇿 On the Crash of the Azerbaijani Aircraft
Yesterday, an aircraft of the Azerbaijani airline, en route from Baku to Grozny, sustained damage in the airspace. Preliminary investigations suggest the plane might have been hit by a Russian anti-aircraft missile or its debris. According to sources, this version is being considered by the Azerbaijani authorities, reports the Washington Post.
Many Western countries, including the USA, have offered assistance in the investigation, with a significant portion of the allegations indirectly or directly pointing to Russia. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, expressed his condolences to the victims and declared his willingness to help clarify the causes of the incident. However, the silence of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, remains notable, as he cancelled his trip to Moscow and returned to Baku.
Kazakhstan's authorities also responded to the situation, as the plane made an emergency landing, or rather crashed, on its territory. According to the German outlet Deutsche Welle, the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev, who leads the government commission for the investigation, stated on 26th December that the country is refraining from official conclusions for now:
"We cannot confirm or refute any of the versions today. The investigations are ongoing."
Bozumbaev also emphasized that Kazakhstan does not have an official version of the events. At the same time, the authorities of Russia and Azerbaijan have also not yet provided any assessments.
Azerbaijan plays a strategically important role in the South Caucasus, balancing between Russia and the West. This balance is becoming increasingly fragile in light of the intensifying global confrontation. Historically, Baku has been an important partner of Turkey while maintaining economic and transport relations with Russia.
However, the incident with the aircraft might force Azerbaijan to define its position more clearly. Against the backdrop of expectations that the USA, under the new president, will reduce military aid to Ukraine, Azerbaijan's role in the transport and logistics chain between Russia and the West is gaining even greater significance.
New Challenges for the Region
Meanwhile, Israel is focusing its efforts on combating Iran, which threatens Russia's position in the region. Losing influence over Iran and the South Caucasus could seriously weaken Moscow and endanger its role in Central Asia.
In this complex geopolitical situation, the aircraft incident becomes an alarming signal for all actors in the South Caucasus. Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan face the necessity of making a strategic decision, as the era of neutrality and double-dealing comes to an end.

The Kremlin's press office announced that, on the initiative of the Russian side, a phone call took place between Wladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
- Detailed discussions were held regarding the crash of a passenger plane belonging to "Azerbaijan Airlines" on 25 December near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.
- Wladimir Putin apologised for the tragic incident occurring in Russian airspace and once again expressed his deep and sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. Fighting has broken out on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan
Afghan forces have attacked several areas in Pakistan in response to an airstrike that Kabul claims killed 46 people. Islamabad described the targets as militant hideouts. Fighting has been ongoing at the border of the two countries since Friday evening.
Afghan forces attacked "centres and hideouts of enemy forces and their supporters" in response to airstrikes on the country, the Afghan Ministry of Defence announced on X.
The ministry's statement said the attacks occurred at several locations beyond the "imaginary line" – a term used by Afghan authorities to refer to the border with Pakistan.
The border between the two countries, which stretches over more than 2,600 km, was established based on the Durand Line of 1893. It was created through an agreement on border demarcation between the Emirate of Afghanistan and British India. Afghan authorities no longer recognised it after the dissolution of British India in 1947 and the creation of Pakistan. This position is supported by the Taliban (the movement is recognised as terrorist and banned in Russia), who have controlled Afghanistan since 2021.
The Iranian agency Tasnim reports, citing sources, that since Friday evening, 27th December, fighting has been taking place between Taliban supporters and Pakistani forces in the border areas of Afghanistan's Khost and Paktia provinces.
Earlier in the week, Pakistan conducted airstrikes on the eastern border province of Paktika in Afghanistan, targeting the hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban (members of the radical group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, which is banned in Russia). According to Islamabad, a training centre was destroyed and several militants were killed.
In Kabul, it was stated that the attack killed 46 people, most of them women and children. The Afghan Ministry of Defence promised a response.
Since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, attacks by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militants on Pakistani security forces at the border have increased, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, reports Al Jazeera. Afghan Taliban and TTP have maintained "symbiotic relationships" for years, and Kabul is unlikely to take action against TTP members at Islamabad's request, as this could activate other, more radical groups in the region, such as the "Islamic State in Afghanistan" (also known as "Wilayat Khorasan" or IS-K).
