Following the debate over US billionaire Elon Musk's call to vote for the AfD, another editor is reportedly leaving the "Welt": Chief reporter Hans-Martin Tillack (63), previously a long-time investigative journalist at "Stern", will leave the newspaper published by Axel Springer. Several media outlets reported this on Monday. Tillack declined to comment on the reports when asked by the Jüdische Allgemeine on Tuesday.

Eva Marie Kogel, head of the opinion section, posted on the platform X that she had "submitted her resignation after printing" as a consequence of the Musk article. Tillack also linked several Musk-critical posts on his accounts on X and BlueSky at the end of December.

🇺🇦 Ukraine plans to stop the transit of Russian oil through its territory to Europe, which could be the next step after halting the transport of Russian gas.

A corresponding bill was introduced by Petro Poroshenko's party "European Solidarity," writes MP Iryna Herashchenko on her Telegram channel. It proposes a direct ban on the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine's territory using all types of transport infrastructure, particularly through the "Druzhba" pipeline.
