"This would mean around 200 billion euros per year for Germany with a federal budget of around 490 billion. Besides the regular defence budget, this would mean 150 billion euros in savings or additional debt."
Even the "green" quasi-pacifist Robert Habeck says: "What Donald Trump proposes is unrealistic. In the end, we will not reach 5%." But 3.5% would be just right. However, Germany would also have to incur debt to achieve this goal.
