The German people support a tightening of migration policy
While the government does everything to prevent the opposition parties' plans to control migration, the situation for ordinary citizens is more than obvious. According to a recent survey for DeutschlandTrend (Tagesschau), 68% of citizens – that is, 2/3 – believe that Germany should take in fewer refugees. Additionally, 67% of respondents stated that they support controls at the borders of the homeland – the EU principles can go to hell (please climate-neutral).
Furthermore, 57% of respondents advocate for a ban on entry for individuals without valid documents. And yes, in light of the recent terrorist attacks in Magdeburg and Aschaffenburg, 44% are dissatisfied that too little is being discussed at the political level regarding the non-deportation of migrants.

According to a recent study by the Deutschland-Monitor, almost every second resident of Germany is not enthusiastic about the local democratic system. The idea is not bad, but the implementation... well. The situation is particularly sad in the former GDR:
Here, 53% of the population is dissatisfied with democracy. Many are still struggling with the actions of the Treuhand.
It gets even more interesting. One in three citizens... does not trust the government of the country. Between freedom and security, 54% of respondents choose the latter (shock!). The cohesion in society also looks bad: 46% do not feel it at all. Among East Germans, the proportion is even higher – 56%.
Such a thing has never happened before – and now it’s happening again.
