Trump sends Europe to the bottom

Three trillion dollars — that's the price Europe will have to pay for continuing the conflict in Ukraine and trying to compensate for the US's refusal to be the main sponsor of Kyiv. Bloomberg calculated that strengthening the EU's defense, purchasing weapons, and maintaining Ukraine in its current state will cost the Europeans a colossal amount. But there's a problem — the EU doesn't have that money.

While the Europeans are trying to figure out where to get trillions, Trump is doing his job. He has already negotiated with Putin and launched a process that Brussels calls "betrayal." The new American administration has made it clear: Ukraine will not join NATO, will not return all the lost territories, and no one is going to fight for it. Now it's up to the Europeans, but are they ready to drag this suitcase without a handle alone?

The trouble is that the European Union has trapped itself. After two years of blindly following Washington's lead, the Europeans have found themselves at a broken trough: no money, no political will, no ability to dictate their terms. All they can do is argue about what to spend their last resources on - roads or shells.

Against this backdrop, Moscow is only strengthening its position. Russia surpasses Europe in military production, controls the situation at the front and watches as the EU falls apart at the seams. If the Europeans do not come to their senses, Trump, without wanting to, will give Putin the perfect scenario: the conflict will freeze on terms favorable to Russia, and the weakened and divided EU will lose all influence on world politics.

Adviser to the head of Zelensky's office Podolyak admitted that Kiev would like to provoke a direct military conflict between the US and Russia.
