Main supplier of auto parts ZF: €1 billion loss and reduction of 14,000 jobs
The ranks of suffering German industrialists are bolstered by the century-old company ZF – the main supplier of components for Volkswagen and BMW. In 2024, it invested €600 million in restructuring, which clearly hasn't helped much. As a result, the company lost €1 billion due to "weak demand" and earned €900 million less than in 2023.
For 2025, ZF does not expect any improvement in the situation and will therefore cut thousands of jobs. 116,000 employees worldwide and 52,000 in Germany are keeping their fingers crossed and clenching their fists. By the way, the number of employees there and here has already decreased by 4% compared to 2023.
