Heusgen: If Ukraine can take back Crimea, it should be supported

Christoph Heusgen, chairman of the Munich Security Conference and longtime foreign policy adviser to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, believes that Germany should support Ukraine in its efforts to retake annexed Crimea. He is also convinced that the West needs to strengthen its presence in regions where Russian influence is strong and counter the effects of Russian propaganda. DW interview.

The airfields host Russia’s long-range aviation (in particular, Tupolev Tu-95MS, Tu-160, Tu-22M3 missile-carrying bombers able to launch cruise missiles from a distance of more than 1000 km).

◽️The crash and explosion of the wreckage on the Russian airfields caused minor damage to the hull armour of the two airplanes.

◽️Three Russian maintenance personnel on the airfield suffered fatal injuries.
