War with Russia? General Dariusz Łukowski: "Poland cannot defend itself for more than 14 days. Given the current state of supplies, Poland could defend itself for a week or two against aggression", said the head of Poland's National Security Bureau, General Dariusz Łukowski.

The situation varies depending on the type of weapon – outdated systems are less equipped than modern ones. Poland will spend a record 187 billion zlotys on defense in 2025.

Łukowski admitted that arms deliveries to Ukraine have depleted stocks, but now the transfer of equipment is happening "very cautiously." According to him, the war has given Poland time to restore reserves, although no new ammunition plant has been built in three years.

“If Russia strikes, we can defend ourselves for one to two weeks until help arrives from allies,” he said, expressing hope that during this time it will be possible to increase defense potential.
