Reuters: USA warn French companies to comply with Trump's ban on diversity programmes

The Trump administration has demanded that some French companies working with the US government adhere to its order banning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programmes. The companies received a questionnaire that must be answered within five days.

The initiative intensifies the economic and political differences between the US and Europe. In France, where secular laws restrict the collection of data on race and ethnicity, DEI programmes focus on gender and social equality.
