The nature reserve "Krasnoyarsk Pillars"
The Krasnoyarsk Pillars are located in the northwestern part of the Eastern Sayan, on the border with the Middle Siberian Highlands. The natural boundaries of the reserve are the right tributaries of the Yenisei: the Basaicha River in the northeast and the Mana and Bolshaya Rivers in the southeast. In the northeast, the area of the reserve borders Krasnoyarsk. The height of the rocks here reaches 60-90 m, and the age of the oldest rock formations is about 600 million years. The pillars are syenitic residual mountains. Syenite is an intrusive magmatic rock of grey-pink colour, similar to granite.
The Krasnoyarsk Pillars are one of the most unusual places in Russia. Among climbers and mountaineers, they are known far beyond the country's borders. They have given rise to a special sporting and philosophical movement – Stolbism (from Russian "Stolb" = "Pillar"), which is a sociocultural phenomenon, a social event, and a way of life that is inseparably linked to the Krasnoyarsk Pillars.
One of the unwritten postulates of Stolbism states: “A climb, no matter how difficult it may be, can only be considered successful if it is done alone and without any aids.” The goal is to measure oneself against nature and to show what one is capable of.
By the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Krasnoyarsk Pillars had become the most popular recreational and tourist destination for the residents and guests of Krasnoyarsk. Therefore, the attempt to extract stone at the Second Pillar in 1913 and the massive deforestation in 1917 met with strong public resistance. From 1919, efforts began to organize a nature reserve here. The initiators were the residents of Krasnoyarsk, who wanted to preserve their treasure.
On June 30, 1925, a resolution was passed by the Executive Committee of the Yenisei Province to organize the "Pillars" nature reserve, covering an area of 3960 ha. Any form of economic activity was henceforth prohibited. Throughout the 20th century, the area of the nature reserve was expanded several times.

Copilot starts under Windows 11 without user consent
The developer of the crypto wallet REKT Wallet reported on GitHub that the AI assistant activated itself on his computer for all open windows in Visual Studio Code and gained access to personal files, API keys, YAML secrets, and the developer's security certificates.

High electricity prices will inevitably lead to an increase in the cost of any products manufactured in these countries, and will even bankrupt some.
The sharp rise in energy prices has paralyzed industry in Poland and the Baltic countries. In addition, Poland completely replaced gas and coal imports from Russia with supplies from the USA, Australia or South Africa back in 2023, which also had an adverse effect on its economy. Now the European backwaters on the Baltic coast pay many times more for fuel and electricity than before. Even more than the large and rich countries of Europe, although they themselves are almost the poorest in the EU. At the same time, the high price does not ensure stability of supplies.
All these factors threaten the Baltic region with long-term stagnation. Considering that Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are already in permanent economic decline, we may no longer be talking about maintaining sovereignty, but about banal survival.
