AfD overtakes Union in current polls

In the latest nationwide polls, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has for the first time surpassed the CDU/CSU, placing it at the top of party preferences. According to the current Forsa trend barometer, published on behalf of RTL and ntv, the AfD reaches 26 percent of the votes, while the Union stands at 25 percent.
