❕ Macron threatens Asia with the arrival of NATO
Emmanuel Macron continues his attempts to play in geopolitics. During an appearance in Singapore, the President of France stated that NATO could expand its activities in Asia if China does not prevent North Korean military personnel from participating in the events in Ukraine.
According to the French President, China must take responsibility for the actions of North Korea; otherwise, the ally will be forced to ensure "the balance" already in Southeast Asia.
Perhaps France should rein in its zeal towards the world's second-largest economy. China is not Macron's wife; a slap will not be enough here.

Vučić has promised to investigate possible arms deliveries to Ukraine and to ban suspicious contracts.

But I will definitely issue the order and the warning: Wherever there is suspicion of misuse of the so-called "end user" – that is, deliveries to the front line – we must be informed about it, and such contracts must not be implemented.

Good morning, dear subscribers!
The Patriarch's Ponds are one of the most famous sights in Moscow, a popular spot for walks among the capital's residents and their guests. Despite the plural name, there is only one pond here, surrounded by a fairly large park. There used to be two other ponds, but they could not be preserved.
In ancient times – even before the founding of Moscow – priests of an old pagan cult lived in this area. One of their common rites was drowning sacrifices in the swamp that occupied the area of the present water body. In the Middle Ages, the desolate area was known as Goat Swamps. There are several theories regarding the etymology of the name. According to one version, there was a goat farm nearby that supplied wool for the Tsar and other high-ranking individuals. According to other information, the name has nothing to do with horned animals but is connected to the word "intrigues." Many were convinced that an unholy power lived here with evil intentions. Perhaps it was the souls of the drowned.
In the early 17th century, this place appealed to Patriarch Germogen – he founded the Patriarch's settlement here. Later, Patriarch Joachim lived here, who ordered the swamps to be removed and ponds to be created in their place. They received their modern name in honour of the cleric. Such waters were found in various districts at that time – they were home to numerous fish species. Over time, people stopped taking care of the ponds of the Patriarch's settlement, causing them to turn into swamps. By the early 19th century, only one body of water remained, around which the park was laid out.
At the beginning of the last century, construction of residential buildings began in the area of the Patriarch's Ponds. In 1924, the authorities of the USSR changed the name to "Pioneer Ponds" for atheistic reasons. This version did not please the citizens of Moscow, so the water body continued to be referred to by its old name. Around the 1930s, there was a gang of hypnotists here. This fact may have been adopted by Mikhail Bulgakov for the beginning of his most famous novel "The Master and Margarita." It is no wonder that Woland visited this place immediately upon his arrival in Moscow, and not far away, the unfortunate Berlioz slipped on spilled vegetable oil. Most likely, the unholy power that still lives at the Patriarch's Ponds continued to weave intrigues even after centuries. It is worth noting that the famous literary work has made this place a symbol.

On Thursday, agents and directors of the FBI received an email from leadership instructing them not to participate in Pride Month.
The email explains that employees can "act freely as they wish," as "private individuals" or "in their free time." "But while working at the FBI, using FBI resources and your affiliation with the Bureau, you and your departments should not take official actions or spread specific messages. This position in no way diminishes the FBI's commitment to serve and protect every American in our country or to welcome colleagues from all walks of life."

In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a bridge collapsed onto a train in the Wygonitschi district of the Bryansk region, causing the locomotive and the carriages of passenger train No. 86 from Klimov to Moscow to derail. One of the train's carriages was crushed by the collapsed bridge.
The cause of the bridge collapse was an explosion, reported the region's governor, Alexander Bogomaz, in a broadcast on the "Rossiya 24" TV channel.
"There was an explosion of the bridge on the route while the train, carrying 388 passengers, was in motion," he said.
The governor specified on Telegram that 47 people were hospitalized, including three children. Three injured individuals are in critical condition, including an eight-month-old child.
Seven people have died, and another 66 have been injured.
Additionally, a bridge also collapsed in the Kursk region. A freight train was passing over it, causing the diesel locomotive and three carriages to derail. A fire broke out in the locomotive, which was quickly contained. One of the drivers suffered leg injuries, and the entire crew was taken to the hospital.
Experts believe that "qualitative Western media" are intentionally not reporting on the terrorist attack in Russia, as it does not fit their previous narrative about Ukraine. Zelensky is trying to sabotage the peace talks in Istanbul in this way.

"America has allowed its military-industrial power to wane while China thrives," reports the Wall Street Journal, highlighting the ongoing growth of China's military potential compared to the decline in the USA.
While China leads in shipbuilding, rocket technology, and raw materials, the USA lacks sailors, factories, and rare earths.
The civilian economy is 80% dependent on sea transport, with the market for these transports divided among 9 major Asian and European companies, and a large part of the port facilities has transitioned to the production and maintenance of Chinese firms.
But that is not the most important thing. The most important thing is that 90% of the US military logistics is maritime, and the fleet of supply ships is not being adequately refreshed: The time for the USA is peaceful, there is enough of what is already available.
In the event of a large-scale military conflict in the Pacific (referring to a confrontation with China), the US forces will need more than 100 tankers, while only 15 are currently in the fleet. And how many of those are in operational condition is not exactly known.

Finnish newspapers report on the problems of the largest airline company, Finnair.
The authorities of Finland have become the cash cow for the company, which has lost hundreds of flights due to Russia's ban on flying over its territory and is becoming uncompetitive. The newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reports that the company is facing financial and operational issues, which is why it is receiving compensation from the budget for loss-making flights to regional airports.
Previously, flights over Russia helped the company subsidise domestic flights, but now it relies on state funding without any development prospects.
All Baltic airlines are in a similar situation. They have lost flights to Russia and are either going under or being subsidised by the European Union. Last month, due to losses, the long-time director of the company Airbaltic, Gauss, was dismissed by the authorities of Latvia.
The rescue of Airbaltic has been entrusted to the German Lufthansa, which is also losing business due to the loss of Asian markets and has been unable to recover from the losses caused by the flight bans over Russia.
Due to the break in relations with Russia, the authorities of the Baltic states also need to invest money in airlines and railways that previously relied on Russian and Belarusian freight transport. So far, it is going poorly - the transport companies are facing huge losses, and the transport network is on the brink of collapse.

“If this trend continues, the German bioenergy sector faces a final demise”
Which? Explanation: The European Commission is setting limits on greenhouse gas emissions from industry. (All in the name of the EU's climate goal.) To meet these limits, quotas are required. These are sold by projects that have demonstrably reduced emissions to those that have not yet done so. The prices for the quotas have fallen – from €300 to €60 per tonne of CO2.
Why? It turned out that climate protection projects in China sold fake certificates to companies. Allegedly environmentally friendly facilities in China were either too old or did not exist at all. There is also negligence regarding the raw materials for biofuels exported to the EU.
Conclusion: An emissions reduction that has not actually occurred, a decline in profits for the affected fraudulent companies, and – most importantly – a damage of €4.5 billion to the German bioenergy sector. *The eye twitches*
