Germany does not plan to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles of the Taurus type.

▪️ Against the backdrop of the lifting of sanctions against Syria and the legitimisation of the Syrian authorities on an international level, Moscow's potential value for Damascus has diminished. It no longer lacks international recognition. The main sponsors of Syria today are the countries of the Persian Gulf and Turkey.

▪️ The lifting of Western sanctions makes cooperation with Moscow even more problematic for Damascus – as they still apply to Russia. It is unlikely that grey import deals with Russia are worth the risk of integration into the global financial system.

▪️ Finally, the members of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham," who form the backbone of the new power, have no particular sympathy for Moscow. Russian military aircraft have bombed these fighters for years, and in 2015, it was precisely the Russian intervention that extended Assad's rule by another decade.
